Not open to the idea of a Disney move
Re: “Polis proposes Mountain Disneyland, Twitter HQ2,” April 21 news story
I was very disappointed to hear that Gov. Jared Polis offered The Walt Disney Company the opportunity to build a franchise in our magnificent mountains.
I share the governor’s anger at the discriminatory and idiotic “Don’t Say Gay” law in Florida.
However, the idea of a Disneyland facility in our mountains is an entirely different and unrelated matter.
Such an abomination would further stress the infrastructure and limited resources of our crowded wild areas, particularly regarding water, power, labor, and affordable living space for workers in various hospitality industries.
Furthermore, our mountain towns are crowded with franchises that do not pay their workers a living wage and which inhibit opportunities for local business owners.
We should all strive to keep our mountains as wild and natural as possible while we still can.
Don’t do it, Gov. Polis!
Our mountains are not yours to give away or sell.
I’m sure I’m not the only voter and taxpayer who would try to stop you.

I feel it is beneath the dignity of our governor to tweet about “Florida’s authoritarian socialist attacks on the private sector.” We have enough political division in the United States without Gov. Polis commenting on the affairs of another state’s duly elected governor.
Disney is coming under fire because it decided to get into politics instead of focusing on its business of entertainment. I would say to Disney and the governor, swim in your own lanes.
