A California-based furniture chain is looking to take a seat in Lone Tree.

Living Spaces, which has 29 stores in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas, plans to open its first Colorado location within Lone Tree’s Ridgegate Commons development, according to developer New York-based Coventry Development Corp.

The two-story, 106,400-squarefoot store is slated to be located between the existing Cabela’s store and the Marriott hotel in Ridgegate, according to development plans available on the city’s website.

A representative of Living Spaces, known for its modern designs and large showrooms, declined to comment. The plans still need to be approved by Lone Tree City Council, according to Lone Tree Senior Planner Chuck Darnell.it’s anticipated that the project will begin construction in June 2022 with a target opening date of June 2023, according to plans on the city’s website.

The furniture store is taking over the final parcel on the west side of the Ridgegate development. The 3,500-acre Ridgegate is located on both sides of Interstate 25 and is slated to ultimately include more than 12 million square feet of office, retail and health care space and up to 10,000 new homes.

Living Spaces will be joining the development anchor Target and local concepts, such as SushiRama, Snooze, Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood and Sierra Restaurant.

“We are so pleased that Living Spaces has selected Ridgegate and Lone Tree as a strategic initial location for its entry to the Colorado market,” Coventry Executive Vice President Keith Simon wrote in a statement to Businessden. “And given the new residential growth expected in our area we think it will be well received.”
