Through his first three starts with the Rockies, Kuhl owns the fourth-lowest ERA in the National League and has held opponents to a .145 batting average, also the fourth-lowest in the NL. He’s the first starter in Rockies history to allow two or fewer runs through the first three starts of the season. In his last start, at Detroit, he pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits, with two walks and four strikeouts. The right-hander has made eight career starts and two relief appearances against Cincinnati, going 2-3 with a 3.80 ERA. Overton is filling Nick Lodolo’s spot in the rotation after Lodolo went on the 10- day injured list with a lower-back strain. In four appearances (two starts) at Triple-a Louisville, Overton posted a 2.84 ERA, striking out 22 and walking just two over 19 innings. In his last start, pitching against the Cubs’ Triple-a affiliate, he gave up just one run on five hits and struck out nine over seven innings.
