Kellermeyer to take reins
NEW KNOXVILLE — After 10 years with Rex Katterheinrich at the helm of the New Knoxville Village Administrator’s office, the village is preparing for a changing of the guard as Larry Kellermeyer will be taking over for the retiring Katterheinrich.
Graduates of New Knoxville High School, Kellermeyer and his wife Joyce have spent the past 42 living just outside the village. They have twin children, Mitch and Nikki, and two granddaughters.
“I have lived my life on three basic principles: faith, family and friends. These principles are all present and very strong within the New Knoxville
community,” he said. “They always say that it takes a village to raise a child.
“The village of New Knoxville helped raise me, my family and now it has the opportunity to help raise my granddaughters.”
Kellermeyer got his start in the working world while attending Wright State University when he started working at Crown Equipment and has worked in a variety of positions within the company. While climbing the ladder at Crown, Kellermeyer decided to further his education and attended Bluffton University to continue his own growth while doing his part to help the growth of the New Bremen based business.
“I am always ready for a new challenge,” Kellermeyer
said.
After 41 years with Crown, the new challenge for this Ranger alumnus is doing his part to help continue the growth of the village.
“I discussed details about this position on several occasions with (Mayor) Keith Leffel,” Kellermeyer explained. “He described the opportunities and challenges of this position. The more I heard, the more interested I became in thinking how I could contribute my skills to the continuation and development of our great community.
“This is the basis of what I look forward to in my new position. How can I can serve my community, a community that has given me so much, and help make it prosperous for generations to come.”
Having studied under the guidance of Kat
terheinrich, Kellermeyer will be able to hit the ground running when he officially takes over as New Knoxville’s village administrator in just nine days on Oct. 26.
“I look forward to working alongside the village employees, residents, mayor and council to continue the great community we already have and work to make our community a place where faith, family and friends thrive,” he said.
