Goodfellows accepting applications for help
Each year a group of volunteers join forces to provide a memorable Christmas for many needy families in the St. Marys community and they are still taking applicants to help this Christmas season.
The Goodfellows, a collection of civic minded individuals whose single goal is to bring joy to those living in the St. Marys City Schools District during the holiday season, are citizens who contribute canned goods, toys through the Toys for Tots program and send financial
support to purchase the food items that go to the many needy in St. Marys.
Needy families and individuals within the SMCD can pick up applications by either going online to download one at TheSMCF.org, or TheEveningLeader. com/ News/Goodfel
lows-Still-Taking-Appilications or picking up a copy at The Evening Leader office, located at 102 E. Spring St., or several area banks.
Applicants have until Friday to send their applications.
Those applications should be mailed or dropped off before Dec. 11 to Goodfellows, c/o Noble, Montague & Moul 146 E. Spring St.
This year, more than
300 families have indicated they could use a Goodfellows package. Goodfellow packages will be delivered from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 24.
“As always, the St. Marys community has responded to our Christmas Charity Appeal with remarkable generosity and we are confident that this year will be no exception,” The Goodfellows said
in a statement.
