Anspach scores 19 in loss LOCAL TEAMS COMPETE AT STATE KICKOFF TOURNAMENT

NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville senior Sam Anspach scored a game-high 19 points in the Rangers 49-36 non-conference loss to Fort Loramie in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Anspach finished with a pair of 3-pointers and six field goals to go along with 5-of- 6 from the free- throw line.

Max Henschen followed with seven points and Patrick Covert added six points for the Rangers (0-3).

Caeleb Meyer led the Redskins (3- 0) with 16 points followed by 13 points from Collin Moore.

New Knoxville lost the junior varsity game 50- 19.

The Rangers are back in action on Tuesday at Waynesfiel­d.

COLUMBUS — The Minster Wildcats boys bowling team placed fourth and New Bremen took seventh in the Division II State Kickoff Tournament on Saturday.

Minster defeated Mechanicsb­urg in the quarterfin­al round 172-143, 169-163, 143-166, 231-185 then the Wildcats fell to St. Henry in the semifinal round 144-181, 206-162, 143-168, 183-245. The Redskins lost to Coldwater in the finals.

New Bremen lost in its opening round to Versailles in five games.

Leading the way for Minster was Chandler Hoskins, who rolled a 623 in three games, followed by Luke Lazier with a 573 series and Brian Gonzales with a 488.

Caleb Pfeil (325), Wyatt Kemper (301) and Isaiah Vanderhors­t (252) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats.

Maverick Nelson led the Cardinals with a 626 series, followed by Jack Wilson with a 538, Nick

Alig rolled a 524 and Wyatt Dicke finished with a 482. Clint Voress rounded out the scoring with a 155. __

The St. Marys Roughrider­s girls bowling team fell 3-2 to Graham in the semifinal round of the Division I State Kickoff Tournament.

Lily Steinberg led the Riders with a 580 series to land her all-tournament

team honors. The senior was then followed by a 488 series from Tricia Yahl, Chloe Gibson finished with a 487 and Ella Kable rolled a 480. Emily Pond finished with a 470 series.

WRESTLING TEAM AT BENJAMIN LOGAN TOURNAMENT

BELLEFONTA­INE — The St. Marys Roughrider­s played at the Benjamin Logan Tournament on Saturday.

Mason Saeler (170) and Logan Knous (285) respective­ly on their weight classes for the day.

The Roughrider­s will play at Wapakoneta on Thursday.
