St. Marys boys beat Celina

CELINA — The St. Marys Roughrider­s boys bowling team rebounded from Saturday’s loss to Wapakoneta with a 2,795-2,680 victory against Western Buckeye League rival Celina on Tuesday.

Jonathan Perez- Shinabery led the Roughrider­s (6-2, 4-1 WBL) with a 426 series, followed by Cayden Ballweg with a 359.

Junior Hurley rolled a 338 and Devin Shannon finished with a 318 series. Rolling one game each was Carter Monbeck with a 147 and a combinatio­n of Monbeck and Jack Boos with a 176.

St. Marys also came away with a 1,031-983 win in the Baker games.

The Roughrider­s girls team nearly completed a comeback, but fell shot with a 2,436- 2,393 loss on Tuesday.

St. Marys trailed by 74 pins going into Baker games and pulled within two pins heading into the final Baker But the Bulldogs won the final Baker 175-134 to come away with a 43-pin win.

Tricia Yahl led the Roughrider­s (5-3, 2-3) with a 343 series, followed closely by Emily Pond with a 337.

Lily Steinberg rolled a 299 series and Chloe Gibson finished with a 269. Rolling one game each was Allyson Speckman (133) and Ella Kable (153).

The Roughrider­s won the Baker games 859-828.

The Minster Wildcats boys bowling team rolled past Perry 2,632- 1,422 in non-conference action on Tuesday.

Austin Moeller led the Wildcats (9- 4) with a 417 series, followed by Caleb Pfeil with a 357 series. Chandler Hoskins rolled a 356 and Cedric Ranly rounded out the two- game series with a 319.

Isaiah Vanderhors­t (170) and Luke Lazier (151) also competed for Minster.

The New Bremen Cardinals girls bowling team fell to Fort Recovery 2,316-2,101 in a Midwest Athletic Conference match on Tuesday.

Callie Wells led the way with a 314 series, followed by Megan Ritter’s series with a 297. Lexa Steinke rolled a 281 series and Emma Keller finished with a 274.

Bowling one game each for the Cardinals (4- 4) were Alayna Ross (137) and Emma Bambauer (108).
