Happy Becher, 88

Happy Becher, 88, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 4:53 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, at Heritage Manor, Minster. She was born Dec. 7, 1932, in Lima, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Anderegg) Gregg, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 27, 1952, she married Frank C. Becher, and he survives.

Other survivors include four children: Jerry (Deb) Becher of Wapakoneta, Amy (Joe) McQuillan of Celina, Tim (Sue) Becher of New Knoxville and Kris Fry of Wapakoneta; eight grandchild­ren: Marla (Brett) Timmerman, Carol (Doug) Heitkamp, Joey McQuillan, Jay (Lea) McQuillan, Jamy (Adam) Manor, Rachel (Ben) Albert, Maria (Jacob) Kaiser and Justin (fiancée Vanessa Borer) Fry and 14 great-grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ginny Fullenkamp.

Happy was a homemaker, mother and drove truck for A&F Enterprise­s. She also participat­ed with rodeo activities. A graduate of Blume High School, Happy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Woman’s Club and enjoyed sewing and horseback riding.

Private funeral services for family and friends will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, with Rev. Melodi Hagen officiatin­g. Burial is to follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton. The family will receive family and friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

In keeping with current health guidelines, masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and the church. The funeral service will be livestream­ed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
