Makayla Helmstette­r, 26, of Wapakoneta, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born March 22, 1994, in Lima, the daughter of Michael and Scarlett (Blair) Helmstette­r.

She is survived by her parents Michael (Kathy) Helmstette­r of Ozan, Arkansas and Scarlett Helmstette­r of St. Marys.

She is survived by her fiancé, Scottey Luedeke of Wapakoneta; children: Amberly Helmstette­r of Wapakoneta, Liliana Luedeke of Wapakoneta, Braxton Luedeke of Wapakoneta and Riley Luedeke of St. Mary; brothers Jamie (Cindy) Brown of Coldwater and Justin (Kileen Rockhold) Brown of Marysville.

She is also survived by her siblings: Jordan Helmstette­r of St. Marys and Cassandra Helmstette­r of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmothe­r, Ella Blair; paternal grandfathe­r, Robert Helmstette­r and sister, Amberly Brown.

Makayla was a 2012 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She was employed at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in the outpatient department. She attended Calvary Christian Fellowship in St. Marys. She loved making crafts and dedicated her life to caring for her children. She was a loving fiancé, mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be forever missed.

Funeral rites will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, Rev. Dane Gilmore, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandates of the Ohio Department of Health.
