Ruth H. Henschen, 96, of St. Marys, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Otterbein — St. Marys.

She was born Aug. 5, 1924 in rural Auglaize County (St. Marys Township) to Elmer H. and Anna F. (Quellhorst) Dammeyer.

On June 28, 1947, she married Willis O. Henschen, who died Oct. 3, 2020.

Survivors include: sisters-inlaw Mary Schmidt of Celina and Joanne Dammeyer of Celina and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, class of 1942.

Ruth retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in St. Marys, where she worked for many years as a drill press operator.

A lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, she also was a member of its women’s guild and Rebecca circle. Also, she was a member of Wally Byam Caravan Club Internatio­nal and Good Sam RV Club “Lima Smiling Sams.”

Ruth and Bill travelled extensivel­y throughout North America in their Airstream motorhome.

Friendly and outgoing, Ruth absolutely loved to visit with friends and relatives. She kept close tabs on her nieces and nephews, always interested in hearing the latest update about their lives.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road in St. Marys. The Rev. Rhonda Hainer will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery near New Knoxville. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Please note that all attendees to the funeral service should observe social distancing and wear face masks, according to guidelines recommende­d by the Ohio Department of Health.
