St. Marys Police Department

The St. Marys Police Department issued 14 citations and responded to the following incidents from Jan. 26 to Feb. 6.

Jan. 26

• Officers were called to the 1100 block of Indiana Avenue at 11”21 a.m. in reference to a fraud complaint.

• At 1:25 p.m., a private property crash was investigated on the 1700 block of Celina Road.

Jan. 27

• Theft was reported on the 1000 block of East Spring Street at 2:47 p.m.

• At 4:07 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Armstrong Street for a non-injury crash. A 2013 delivery truck was attempting to pull into an open space in front of a residence and struck a 2008 minivan that was parked on the side of the road, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

Jan 28

• An officer transported a person from the 1600 block of Celina Road to St. Rita’s Medical Center for an evaluation at 10:19 a.m.

• At 2:41 p.m., a private property crash was investigated on the 2200 block of state Route 66 North.

• Telecommunications harassment was reported at 4:09 p.m. on the 1100 block of Neill Avenue.

Jan. 30

• At 1:39 a.m., officers arrested Prosper Bryant and Damon York near the intersection of South Main and Market streets. They were charged with improper handling of a firearm following a traffic stop. Suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found on the scene.

Jan. 31

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 400 block of Scott Street at 8:37 p.m.

• Officers were called to the 700 block of Columbia Street at 9:10 p.m. in reference to a domestic dispute.

Feb. 1

• Criminal trespass was reported on the 400 block of Fortman Drive at 4:27 p.m.

• At 7:36 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Hendricks Avenue in reference to a report of a suicidal male.

• Officers assisted the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of Darvin Hawkins at 8:47 p.m. on the 400 block of Scott Street. Hawkins was arrested on a bench warrant for a probation violation.

Feb. 2

• The SMPD investigated a report of an emotional person on the 700 block of Edwards Street at 2:38 p.m.

• At 9:03 p.m., officer arrested Daniel Huebner on the 300 block of East Spring Street on a bench warrant for underage alcohol consumption. He was transported to Moulton and custody was transferred to the Wapakoneta Police Department.

Feb. 3

• Criminal trespass was reported at 1:13 a.m. on the 100 block of Concord Avenue.

Feb. 4

• Officers were called to the 1800 block of Winston Drive at 1:35 a.m. and took a report of telecommunications harassment.

• A theft was investigated on the 2100 block of Kensington Drive at 8:27 a.m.

• At 9:14 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of South Park Drive in reference to threats received by a business.

• Officers arrested Phillip Schmidt on a warrant for failure to appear at 2:50 p.m. in the area of Axe and Hendricks streets.

Feb. 6

• Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Spring Street for a death investigation at 10:40 a.m.
