Robert P. Kohlhorst, 96, of St. Marys, died at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at his residence.

He was born April 4, 1924 in Lima, to Burrell and Irene (Austin) Kohlhorst.

Survivors include: daughters Susan (Justin Braun) Runkle of Wapakoneta, Bonnie (Rick) Gatlin of Greenville, Tennessee, Lydia Kohlhorst of St. Marys and Debbie Blakley of Georgia; sons Tim (Tammy) Kohlhorst of St. Marys, Doug (Kim) Kohlhorst of Liberty Center and Darrel (June) Kohlhorst of Tennessee; seven grandchild­ren; seven greatgrand­children, with another due on March 17, and sister Betty Arns of Lima.

Preceded in death by: parents Burrell and Irene Kohlhorst; wife Sylvia (Slone) Kohlhorst; son Robert Darwin Kohlhorst; brother Richard Kohlhorst and sister Carol Ream.

He was a graduate of Lima Senior High

School, Class of 1942.

A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served his country during World War II.

He had worked in the coal mines of Kentucky, Ford Motor Comapny (Lima Engine Plant) and Standard Oil of Ohio. Following retirement, he grew and sold fresh vegetables for many years.

Funeral rites are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Benjamin, officiatin­g.

Military funeral honors will be conducted at the conclusion of the services.

Private burial will take place at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.

Visitation after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
