Celina Insurance hosts blood drive

CELINA — Celina Insurance Group recently hosted a Red Cross blood drive at its home office. Thirty-two employees donated blood, making a significan­t impact on the lives of others. The Red Cross and Celina employees followed strict safety protocols during the event.

“We are pleased our employees donated at a time when there could be potential shortages due to the coronaviru­s,” said Christine Purdy, director of human resources. “Celina is proud to help the Red Cross carry out its mission during these uncertain times.”

Completion of a RapidPass online health history questionna­ire is encouraged to expedite the donation process. To donate blood, a blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identifica­tion are required. Individual­s who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger must also meet certain height and weight requiremen­ts.
