Minster and New Bremen compete at Versailles Invitation­al over weekend.

VERSAILLES — New Bremen and Minster were among the schools taking part in a large track and field invitation­al at Versailles on Saturday.

A total of 18 schools were on hand and teams were split into the “Black” and “Orange” divisions.

West Liberty-Salem took first in the girls’ team competitio­n with 172 points. New Bremen was second with 170. Lehman Catholic was third (121) and Minster was fourth (108.5)

For the boys, Marion Local was first (141), Minster was second (119), with another group from Marion Local third (100), followed by New Bremen (98). MINSTER

The Minster girls competed in the “Black” division.

Taylor Roth was second in the 400 dash. Margaret Hemmelgarn took first (2:29.02) in the 800 run and Cameo Cedarleaf was fifth.

Chaney Cedarleaf ws third and Mason Pohl fourth in the 1600 run.

Ella Boate won the 3200 run in a time of 11:53.46. Jenna Heuker was third in the 100 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles.

The 1600 relay team of Taylor Roth, Cameo Cedarleaf, Hemmelgarn and Pohl finished second. Also taking second was the 3200 relay of Boate, Hemmelgarn, Pohl and Roth. Ava Sharp was fifth in high jump, Dana Prenger was fifth in shot put.

The Minster boys had Bryan Falk take first in the 200 dash (24.15) and fourth in the 100 dash.

Bryce Barhorst and Brady Hoelscher were fourth and fifth in the 400 dash.

Alex Albers took first place in the 800 run (2:03.12) and Mathew Droesch was fourth.

Joe Slonkosky was fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Josh Niekamp was third in the 1600 run, while Jack Grieshop and Ryan Halpin were third and fourth in the 3200.

Minster’s 800 relay of Nathan Webb, Joe Slonkosky, Isaiah Slonkosky and Jim Trzaska took first (1:38.53).

Brady Hoelscher, Joe Slonkosky, Isaiah Slonkosky and Falk were the winners in the 1600 relay (3:37.40).

Hoelscher, the two Slonkoskys and Alex Albers were second in the 3200 relay.

Evan Dorsten was second in the pole vault, Alex Frimel was third in the shot put.

NEW BREMEN

For the New Bremen girls (who competed in the “Orange” division), Abi Powers was first in the 200m dash (28.48) and fourth in the 100m dash

Caroline Whitlatch took first place in the 800 run (2:36.30) and Chloe Homan was first in the 3200 (13:10.84).

Tess Lane (17.72) and Olivia Grillot were first and second in the 100 hurdles, and Riana Paul was fifth. Lane was second and Gillott was fourth in the 300 hurdles.

The 3200 relay team of Whitlatch, Lilly Lennartz, Molly Dues and Homan were second.

Jill Roetgerman took first (5-0) and McKenzie Waterman second in the girls high jump. Megan Rinehart was fourth in the long jump.

Chloe Bornhorst, Elizabeth Garman and Elli Roetgerman were second through fourth in the shot put.

Megan Krieg, Roetgerman and Gabi Heckman were the top three in discus.

For the New Bremen boys, Braden Suchland was fifth in the 200 dash. Zach Wiedeman placed third in the 1600 run. Josiah Condon took third in the 300 hurdles.

The 800 relay team of Condon, Hayden Zeller, Suchland and Hunter Schaefer was second.

Condon, Zeller, Dylan Bambauer and Suchland had a firstplace time of 3:51.61 in the 1600 relay.

Bambauer, Wiedeman, Patrick Bernhold and Zach Ashman won the 3200 relay (9:30.16).

Cale Tangeman was fourth in pole vault, Condon was second in the long jump, Mason Kuck was second in shot put and first in discus (117-2).
