Celina edges Riders in WBL softball clash
CELINA -- Celina edged St. Marys 5-4 in a Western Buckeye League softball contest on Tuesday.
Renee Sweigart had a single and double with four RBIs for the Lady Roughriders. Kiley Tennant also had two hits.
Grace Chilcoat scored the winning run for Celina.
Karsyn McGlothen took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits in six innings. She had 10 strikeouts.
St. Marys will host Defiance today at 5 p.m.
SOFTBALL Minster 16, New Bremen 1
MINSTER -- Minster defeated New Bremen 16-1 in five innings in a Midwest Athletic Conference game on Thursday.
Minster scored seven runs in the first and nine in the fourth. The Lady Cardinals got their lone run in the second.
Hoying got the win for Minster, allowing one hit and two walks. She struck out six.
For New Bremen, Ross and Pape shared the pitching duties. They allowed 10 hits and walked nine combined. Ross had one strikeout and Pape got four.
Hoskins and Bishop had home runs and Albers doubled for the Lady Wildcats. Bishop had four RBIs, Hosins three, and Hemmelgarn, Goubeaux and Albers had two each.
Ross had the hit for New Bremen, with Keller and Wells reaching base via walks.
BASEBALL New Bremen 6, Anna 2
NEW BREMEN -New Bremen got some early scoring as they defeated Annna in non league action Tuesday.
New Bremen scored three in the first. After Anna got two in the second, the Cardinals got one in the bottom half, then added a run in the third and one in the fifth.
Mitchell Hays, Kyle Tenkman and Vince Hulse had hits for New Bremen, with Tenkman and Hulse having doubles. Hulse drove in two runs, Nixk Alig one and Tenkman one.
Reece Busse pitched six innings to get the win, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked six and struck out seven.
New Bremen will be at Fort Loramie today at 5 p.m.
TENNIS St. Marys 4, Celina 1
The St. Marys boys tennis team defeated Celina 4-1 in a Western Buckeye League match on Tuesday.
The Roughriders won two of the three singles matches and both doubles contests.

2nd singles -- NIck Forlow (CEL) def. Kameron MacLean (SM), 6-3, 6-2
3rd singles -- Rhett Chisholm (SM) def. Caitlyn Cramer (CEL), 6-0, 6-0
1st doubles -- Correy Nelson and Preston Wilson (SM) def. Maggie Zhang and R.J. Veit (CEL), 6-1, 6-3
2nd doubles -- Connor Milner and Isaac Wibbeler (SM) def. Diego Casorena and Keaton Fishbaugh (CEL).
St. Marys will host Defiance today at 4:30 p.m.
