Geneva “Judy” Hoelscher, 78, of rural New Knoxville, died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.

She was born April 18, 1943 in Bellefonta­ine.

On March 4, 1967 in Wapakoneta, she married Jerry E. Hoelscher, who survives.

Also survived by: daughter Shannon (Shawn) Spencer of Findlay and daughter Dionna (James) Chambers of Odessa, Florida; four grandchild­ren: Chloe (Doug) Tascoff, Samuel Spencer, Lydia Duncan, Grace Duncan; two great-grandchild­ren: Sophia Tascoff and Elijah Tascoff; sister Panna “Pam” Alexander of Rising Sun, Ohio and sister Jean Zambon of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Preceded in death by: mother Anna Mae Routt and brother Dennis Neer.

She was a graduate of Wapakoneta High School (Class of 1961).

Judy was employed as a bus driver for the New Knoxville School District and had also worked as a home health aid for Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. For many years, she served as a ticket-taker at athletic events for New Knoxville Rangers sports programs.

She was a member of First Church of New Knoxville.

Her favorite pastimes included reading and watching television. The main focus of Judy’s life was her family. She dearly loved her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at First Church of New Knoxville, with the Rev. Joel Bucklin, officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville.

Visitation is 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the ministry center of the church.
