Michael A. Selby, 75

Michael Albert Selby, 75, of Wapakoneta, passed away on March 10, 2022 at his home in Wapakoneta. He was born Feb. 19, 1947 in Lima, to the late Oma J. and Mary Louise (Hayes) Selby. On Aug. 18, 1973 he married Barbara (Smallwood) Selby and she survives at the residence in St. Marys.

Mike was a devoted and loving father to his children: Shane Selby of Wapakoneta, Todd Selby of Wapakoneta, Chad (Amy) Selby of Celina and Michael J. (Heather) Selby of Wapakoneta; brothers and sisters: Judy (Charlie) Cooper of St. Marys, Sue (Doug) Zautner of Gilderland, New York and Donna (Vic) Shinabery of St. Marys; six grandchildren: Jamey, Aaron, Xaiver, Deanna, Alyssa and Mya and many nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Selby; and a sister, Linda Burklo.

Mike was a 1965 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He went on to retire after 39 years of employment at Good Year Tire Company in St. Marys.

Mike enjoyed being outdoors and farming. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial gathering of Michael’s life will be held at the Varsity Lanes Bowling Alley in St. Marys from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 10.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Michael’s honor.
