David G. Blackburn, 68

David Gail Blackburn, 68, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 3:40 a.m., in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Lima. Dave is the son of the late Gail and Marilyn (McCormick) Blackburn. On April 29, 1978, he married Diane S. Carmean and she survives.

Other survivors include three daughters: Amanda S. Blackburn of Hilliard, Ohio; Andrea D. (Adam) Graves of Wapakoneta and Alyssa M. (Ryan) Dolan of Perrysburg, Ohio; three grandchild­ren: Lucas Graves, Tyler Graves, Caden Dolan and one on the way; two sisters: Debra (Jerry) Sommervill­e of Wapakoneta and Beth (Ron) Duval of Wapakoneta; a brother-in-law, William “Bill” Miller, Wapakoneta and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Carmean and Debra Carmean.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sheryl Miller; two brothers-in-law, Terry Carmean and Michael Carmean and a sister-in-law, Christine Woods.

A farmer, Dave worked at Parker-Hannifin Corp., St. Marys, for 44 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, and a 1972 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. Dave enjoyed farming and especially spending time with his grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, with Pastor Melodi Hagen officiatin­g. Burial is to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Memorial contributi­ons may be directed to Steps for Sarcoma, Trinity Lutheran Church Shelter House Fund, Cancer Assn. of Auglaize Co. or Grand Lake Hospice.
