Larry Kuhn, 84

Larry L. Kuhn, age 84 of New Bremen, died on Thursday, Jan, 19, 2023 at 4:45 a.m. at the OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He was born on Feb. 15, 1938 in Dayton, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Grace (Sterm) Kuhn. On Aug. 29, 1959 he married Ann E. Arvay, who survives in New Bremen. Also surviving are his children Timothy (Barbara) Kuhn of Greenville and James (Sheila) Kuhn of New Bremen, his grandchild­ren Anthony (Amanda) Kuhn and Brittany (Jacob) Hill, his great-grandchild­ren: Kaylee Kuhn, Jace Hill, and Anastasia Hill, and a brother Joseph (Marceil) Kuhn of Florida. Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandson Tyler Kuhn, his father and mother inlaw John “Scully” and Anna (Kocsis) Arvay, and his brothers and sister in-laws: Julies (Jerry) Orisz, and Michael (Pat) Orisz.

Larry served in the United States Navy for six years after graduating from high school. After his marriage to Ann, they moved to New Bremen, and began attending St. Paul Church, where Larry began an active life of service in the church. Over the years, he assisted in numerous ways on committees, making and building items, assisting with art camp, and going on various mission trips to Eastern Europe and El Salvador. He and Ann were constantly together and celebrated 63 years of fun-filled adventures. As a family they took a number of camping trips to Maine and the Southern and Western parts of the United States. Larry was a “doer,” always busy tinkering with stained glass projects, fixing old tools, wood working, baking breads, leading as a former Boy Scout Master and member of village council, and he had assisted Ann with numerous projects for her Serendipit­y School. He has also been the owner of the former Lee’s printing in New Bremen for over 40 years, and also the former Lee’s Auto Sales.

A Memorial Service to honor Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with Rev. Becky Erb Strang and Rev. Katie Jackson officiatin­g. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons be made to the Community Blessing Pantry at St. Paul Church (119 N. Franklin Street, New Bremen, Ohio 45869).
