Roughrider­s rout Minster for their 10th straight win

The St. Marys boys basketball team kept its hot streak going, as they defeated visiting Minster 77-34 on Saturday night in nonleague play.

The Roughrider­s have now won 10 games in a row, and improved their season record to 14-5.

St. Marys was led offensivel­y by its “triple towers” as Austin Parks had 22 points, Evan Angstmann 20 and Jace Turner scored 14. Angstmann had six 3-pointers.

Minster dropped its fourth straight, falling to 3-17. Ian Homan and Kole Richard each had 10 points, and Cole Albers scored eight.

The first period was high scoring with St. Marys leading 24-14 after eight minutes.

The Riders scored 16 in the second, with Minster getting eight. That put the hosts up 4022 at the half.

St. Marys dominated in the second half, holding the Wildcats to six points in each quarter.

Minster (1-6 MAC, 3-17) will play at New Bremen this Friday and at Coldwater next Friday.

The Roughrider­s (5-2 WBL, 14-5) will host Bath Friday and travel to St. Henry on Saturday, then finish the regular season at Celina next Friday.

VERSAILLES — New Knoxville lost to Versailles in Midwest Athletic Conference play on Friday night.

Jay Schroeder had seven points for the Rangers, and Andrew Leffel scored five. Troy Dwenger, Noah Holland and Solly Stiles had two points each.

New Knoxville, which fell to Bath 56-44 on Saturday, is now 2-16 on the year.

They travel to Fort Recovery on Friday and play at Botkins on Saturday. The regular season finale will be at home against Parkway next Friday.
