Evalyn Schultz, 94

Evalyn Joann (Poorman) Schultz was born June 26, 1928 to Harold and Claudine (Ward) Poorman of Forest, Ohio. Evalyn graduated in 1946 from Forest High School and from Bowling Green State University in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education. She taught business subjects in Botkins High School for 3 years and in New Knoxville High School for 25 years.

Evalyn married Elmer Schultz of St. Marys, Ohio, on July 1, 1951. Elmer passed away in 2017.

She is survived by her daughter Ellen Schultz of St. Marys, son Trent Schultz of Indian Lake, Ohio, and Trent’s girlfriend Deborah Mower of Westervill­e, Ohio. Both of her parents are deceased.

Evalyn enjoyed planning and taking the camping trips that took our family to 48 states along with Mexico and Canada. Evalyn did the bookkeepin­g for Elmer’s business Schultz Electric for many years.

She was a faithful fan of New Knoxville Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. She enjoyed watching all sports.

Evalyn was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Auglaize Retired Teachers.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moulton. Evalyn loved her family and enjoyed keeping house in Moulton.

Funeral rites will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moulton, Ohio at 2:00 p.m. with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral. Burial rites will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Miller Funeral Home on 1605 Celina Road St. Marys, Ohio. Memorial donations may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or National Parks. Condolence­s may be sent to Evalyn’s family at MillerFune­ralHome.net.
