Nada Lou Vanderhors­t, 90, formerly of Point Place and a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, died 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Otterbein St. Marys.

She was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Toledo, the daughter of Lysle and Edna (Sangmeiste­r) Washburn.

She married Lynn Vanderhors­t on June 18, 1955, in Toledo, and he preceded her in death in 1992.

She is survived by her son, Jerry (Monica) Vanderhors­t of St. Marys; by her grandson, Ryan (Mattie) Vanderhors­t of North Canton, Ohio; by a great-granddaugh­ter, Dempsie Vanderhors­t.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Dale Vanderhors­t; her brother, Dwaine “Skip” Washburn.

Nada was a graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Womens’ Internatio­nal Bowling Congress, and a member of the Mudjaw Bowmen Archery Club. She enjoyed country music and line dancing with her many friends, and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Toledo. She loved her dogs Snuggles and Peanut so much!

Funeral rites will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4703 N. Summit, Toledo, Pastor Jeff Bunke, officiant. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church, where memorial gifts may be made to the church.

Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, Ohio, is entrusted with Nada’s funeral arrangemen­ts, and condolence­s may be sent to her family via MillerFune­ralHomes.net.
