Results for Brush Beetdiggers from Feb. 22-28 basketball games, wrestling duals
Br ush girls sitting at 9-2, boys 8-3 to star t last week of regular season
The Brush Beetdiggers and Lady Beetdiggers had another busy week from Feb. 22 to 28, with all the teams having seen some action.
Girls Basketball
The Brush girls were sitting at 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the Patriot League as of Monday, March 1.
The Lady Beetdiggers took on Resurrection Christian at home on Tuesday, Feb. 23. That ended in a Brush win, 5950.
With 0:55 left to go in the game and the Lady Beetdiggers ahead, the Brush girls defended well and seniors Brook Rule and Alexis Corral made four crucial free throws to put the game away, 59-50.
Brush Superintendent Dr. Bill Wilson, who was filling in as the Brush girls’ coach against Resurrection Christian for his son, Coach Anthony Wilson, remarked after the game, “Shows the character and resilience of our girls. They control what they can control. And (they) played well.”
Next would be a trip to Estes Park for an away League game. The Lady Beetdiggers again got the win, 58-24.
On Monday, March 1, the Brush girls faced the Wiggins girls. Results of that game were not available as of deadline.
Next up will be a home League game against the Frontier Academy girls on Wednesday, March 3.
That will be followed by an away League game on Friday, March 5, at Eaton.
Boys Basketball
The Brush boys have had most of their games so far go their way. As of Feb. March 1, Brush was sitting at 8-3 overall and 5-3 in the Patriot League. That had them at fourth place in the League.
The Brush boys headed to Strasburg on Tuesday, Feb. 23, for a League game. That ended in a 6658 loss in over time.
Then on Wednesday, Feb. 24, the Beetdiggers headed to Loveland to face Resurrection Christian. The Brush boys again took a loss, 47-44.
On Friday, Feb. 26, the Beetdiggers hosted Estes Park. That game ended in a 72-50 victory for Brush.
On Monday, March 1, the Brush boys were hosting Wiggins in a nonLeague game. Results of that game were not available as of deadline.
Next up is a League game at home against Eaton on Thursday, March 4.
That will be followed by a trip to Greeley to face Frontier Academy in a League game on Saturday, March 6.
Boys Wrestling
The Brush boys wrestling team was busy, with quite a few duals from
Feb. 21 to 28. Results listed are what was posted as of March 1 on trackwrestling.com.
On Thursday, Feb. 25, the Brush boys faced Weld Central and Wiggins for duals. Brush got team wins in both, going 39-33 against Weld Central and 60-18 against Wiggins.

On Friday, Feb. 26, the Brush boys wrestled Highland, getting a 30-25 team win.

Girls Wrestling
The Brush Lady Beetdiggers wrestling team took on Bennett and Poudre on Friday, Feb. 26.
The Brush girls got a team win over Bennett, 12-9. Scoring for Brush were: Kaylie Sanchez (127 6 points, forfeit) and Ambrosia Cruz (147 - 6 ponts, forfeit).
Poudre got the team win over Brush, 18-0.
Nextupwasthe Northridge Tri on Saturday, Feb. 27. The Lady Beetdiggers faced Calhan and Nor thridge.
The Brush girls got a team win over Calhan, 12-0. Scoring for Brush were: Trinity Cruz (118 - 6 points, 0:54 fall) and Ambrosia Cruz (136 - 6 points, forfeit).
The Nor thridge girls got the team win over Brush, 11-0.
Girls wrestling regionals are set to happen March 5 and 6, and then girls state wrestling is March 12 and 13.
