Organizer Casey Decker of Buckers Unlimited is looking forward to the show.
“This event is going to be great this year,” he said. “We have many feature bulls coming as well as riders.”
Decker shared his thoughts on some of the top entries in this year’s show:
Yearlings
Mexican Show, owned by BJ Cattle Company:
This bull has been very solid the couple times I have seen him this year and has placed high in every event I have seen him at this year. He spins fast and kicks hard and will be a contender for the No Credit Bucking Battle champion this year.
Chilly Ray, owned By Little Hawk/Moyer and sons:
Chilly Ray is an outstanding young athlete with everything it takes to be a champion. Every time this calf bucks he is full of intensity and fire and will be looking to put on a show in Brush!
Danja Zone, owned by Savage Cattle/ Mike McK
ee: This calf has what it takes and when he puts it all together he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Not only does he have the breeding to back it up he also has the ability to be as great as his daddy. Watch for this bull in the yearling class!
Futurity class
120 Smooth Violation, owned by No Credit Buck
ing Bulls/Oaks/6-C: This bull has been phenomenal this year with winnings over $50,000 and holding his place in the top 10 bulls in the country. He has all the tools and puts on a show every time he leaves the bucking chute. Look for big scores out of him in Brush!
Rank Hank, owned by TR Cattle/ Barthold: This bull has been known to put up huge scores in the past and is getting back to his old self. He will spin fast and kick hard right in the gate and will be a contender in this class for sure. 01H, owned by Farris
Cattle Company: I have seen this bull have trips to be upwards of 95 points. He is all there and can be this year’s champion if he has his day.
Derby
Blowin Smoke, owned by Nothin But Try Ranch/ DIgger Bucking Bulls/Kinser/McCall: This bull is
among the top three in the world standings for the 3-year-old bulls right now. He is owned by Brush’s Pat Walter and Travis Lefever. This bull is big and strong and bucks hard every single time he is out. Look forward to a good match up and a good show from him!
Tramp, owned by Nothin But Try Ranch/Booth Bucking Bulls: Another bull here owned by a Brush native Wendy Booth. This bull has shown excellent outs and won money at some of the biggest events of the year. He is going to make a name for himself in the future and will be looking for first place prize in Brush this weekend. 14-6 John, owned by Jenkins/CIL: This big grey bull has really been coming into himself the past few weeks and is looking to make a name for himself. He is big, pretty and bucks extremely hard. Look for big scores and possibly a champion!
Riders
Junior Souza, Brazil: This guy is an outstanding bull rider that has made a huge name for himself in America and at the PBR level. He has qualified to the PBR finals on multiple occasions and is one of the best bull riders in the world today. Look for big scores out of him on Saturday night!
Nathan Hatchel, Castle Rock: Nathan is one of the best bull riders in the mountain state region, winning Mountain State Circuit finals and every other thing he can win in our area. He has battled injuries but is back and as strong as ever and looking to add another buckle to his buckle case and a pocket full of cash!
Trey Thomas, Sayre, Oklahoma: Trey was last year’s No Credit Bucking Battle Champion, making a 90 point ride and taking home $10,000. He is as talented as anyone going down the road and looks to get back to back wins at the Morgan County Fair. Trey comes to win!
