Scott B. Car ter
December 21, 1955 - January 26, 2023
With great sadness, the family of Scott B. Carter announces his passing, his wife at his bedside. He entered into eternal life on January 26, 2023, at the age of 66, the result of complications from heart valve replacement. Scott was an Organ Donor, and he will live on in the many lives he has helped.
Scott was born in Wynnewood, OK to Dub and Leta Carter. He graduated from Moore, OK High School, 1974, earned a BA in Marketing from University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners) in 1979, and graduated with high distinctions earning an MBA from Oklahoma City University in 1989. Through their deep mutual love, Scott and Kay were celebrating their 41st year of marriage.
Scott never met a stranger and shook hands with numerous famous personalities in airports around the world. He was an avid sports enthusiast, had extraordinary sports retention, enjoyed crossword puzzles while relaxing and had a passion for the beauty of roses in springtime. Golf was one of Scott's favorite activities. He loved teaching as much as playing the game.
His quick sense of humor, authentic smile, and love for trivia (winning numerous trivia contests on his travels), will be missed by all. His loyalty to University of Oklahoma football, Colorado Avalanche, and Denver Broncos was uncompromised.
His years as a consultant for JD Edwards software took him coast to coast domestically and into
Canada. As "IT Manager" with Sennheiser New Mexico (headquartered in Germany), Sennheiser took him to Germany 14 times, Ireland 4 times, Denmark, Netherlands, Paris,
Italy, and Iceland.
He was preceded in Life-Ever-After by his brother, Terry Carter; father, Dub Carter; and exactly 15 years and 6 months to the day, by his mother, Leta Carter (I think they planned that one); his brother-in-law, Tom Meals, and father-in-law, David Ticnor.
He was loved and survived by his wife, Kay, his in-laws; mother-in-law, Delora Ticnor; brothers-in-law, Terry and Wayne
Ticnor; sister-in-law,
Sue Ann Meals, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great-nieces, and 3 great-nephews whom Scott dearly loved in turn, and who remained close throughout their lives. Each of them shared memories of mischief and happy times with Scott.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Friday, February 24, at 1:00 pm, at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1100 West Platte Ave., Fort Morgan. Interment will follow at Riverside Memory Gardens Cemetery. All are invited to return to the church where a late luncheon will be hosted by the Women of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer following interment.
The family would greatly appreciate, as per Scott's wishes, instead of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Hospital, for the kids, as expressions of sympathy.
