Burton Brown will join Advance Colorado as advisor

New Republican Party chair is Dave Williams

Kristi Burton Brown, who served since 2021 as chairwoman of the Colorado Republican Party, has been named to a position as senior policy advisor at Advance Colorado.

“I’m excited to get to work on policies that move Colorado forward and help working families across our state,” Burton Brown said.

Advance Colorado is a nonprofit dedicated to educating Coloradans on the benefit of strong and sustainable state and local governing solutions in the areas of fiscal responsibility and transparency, limited government, free enterprise, lower taxes, strong public safety, and an accountable education system, the organization’s website reads.

Dave Williams has been named as the chairman of the Colorado Republican Party, following Burton Brown in the position. Burton Brown held the position from 2021-23, and previously U.S. Rep. Ken Buck served as the party’s chairman. Burton Brown did not seek a second term in the position.

“As conservatives, we must bring solutions on education, protect TABOR, and defend our rights from the overreach of the far left,” Burton Brown said.

A constitutional attorney with years of experience in state policy, Burton Brown was the Colorado Republican Party’s youngest chair in history and the first woman to hold the role in four decades, the press release from Advance Colorado reads.

Kristi excels at uniting people around conservative principles,” said Michael Fields, President of Advance Colorado. “Colorado is at a crossroads, and Advance Colorado plans to continue to engage in important policy discussions at both the state and local levels.”

Williams previously chaired the El Paso County Republican Party, represented El Paso County in the Colorado House and unsuccessfully campaigned for a seat in Congress.
