Through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program, the Brush Volunteer Fire Department received $11,055 to help with the purchase of an airlifting bag for confined space rescue.

“Thanks to the CHS Seeds for Stewardship grant, we were able to acquire this important piece of live-saving equipment,” says Ray Uhrick, assistant chief of the Brush Volunteer Fire Department.

“The Paratech Multiforce Airlifting Bag deploys quickly and lifts a car, truck, tractor or any other piece of equipment off an individual who has become trapped.”

The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program supports organizations and projects that are focused on safety, ag education, and strengthening and uplifting hometown communities. The funds like those being donated by CHS High Plains are part of the CHS commitment to empower a safer, stronger rural America through financial support that goes directly back into communities where CHS farmer- and rancher-owners and employees work, live and do business.

“CHS is proud to offer our support to the Brush Volunteer Fire Department,” says Evan Fust, general manager and senior director of operations, CHS High Plains. “It is imperative for cooperatives to give back to our local communities. Our patrons, customers and employees rely on the availability of emergency services, and we are happy to provide financial assistance to help the Brush Volunteer Fire Department purchase life-saving equipment.”
