NBA trade deadline: Knicks bolster bench with Burks and Bogdanović
The New York Knicks are acquiring some needed scoring punch in Alex Burks and Bojan Bogdanović from the Detroit Pistons, a person familiar with the details said Thursday.
The Knicks are sending Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two secondround picks to the Pistons, the person told the Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade was not yet official.

The Knicks are playing without their entire starting frontcourt of AllStar Julius Randle, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, and have been seeking to replace some of the bench scoring they lost when they dealt Immanuel Quickley to Toronto along with RJ Barrett in the deal for Anunoby in December.
They found it in Burks, who played well in a previous stint for the Knicks, and Bogdanović, a reliable outside shooter.
Burks has scored 12.7 points per game in one and a half seasons with the Pistons, slightly above the 12.1 he averaged in two seasons with the Knicks.
Olynyk going back to Canada in Jazz-Raptors swap – source
Kelly Olynyk is going back to his native Canada, after the Utah Jazz agreed Thursday to trade the veteran forward to the Toronto Raptors, a person with knowledge of the agreement said.
Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji are going to Toronto for a first-round pick in this June’s draft, Otto Porter and Kira Lewis, the person said.
The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had yet to receive final league approval.
Toronto would become the sixth NBA team for Olynyk, who has also played for Boston, Miami, Houston and Detroit before spending parts of two seasons with the Jazz.
Olynyk is averaging 8.1 points and 5.1 rebounds this season for Utah, while Agbaji averaged 5.4 points and 2.5 rebounds. Both played about 20 minutes per game, primarily off the Jazz bench.
Porter had two stints this season where he was sidelined by injury, wasn’t currently in the Toronto rotation and has appeared in only 23 games since the start of last season. Lewis made one appearance with the Raptors since getting acquired from New Orleans last month in the deal where Toronto sent Pascal Siakam to Indiana.
Pacers trade Buddy Hield to 76ers – source
The slumping Philadelphia 76ers have acquired guard Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers for Marcus Morris Jr, Furkan Korkmaz and three secondround draft picks, a person familiar with the decision told the Associated Press on Thursday.
The Sixers also sent Daniel House and a 2024 second-round pick to the Detroit Pistons, the person said. The House trade creates $4.3m in cap space as part of the traded player exception. The trades have opened salary cap and roster space for the Sixers to pursue a player on the buyout market.

Sixers president Daryl Morey made the moves hours ahead of the NBA trade deadline with the Sixers tumbling down the East standings without injured All-Star Joel Embiid.
The 76ers are 4-12 without Embiid and will be without the reigning MVP for at least month – if not much longer – following knee surgery this week.
Hield will earn $19.2m this season in the final year of a four-year contract. He averaged just 12 points this year in 52 games with the Pacers. He is a career 40% three-point shooter. Hield made just 28 starts this year but should see an expanded role on a Sixers team hit hard by injuries and illness.
Mavericks acquire Washington from Hornets
The Dallas Mavericks are acquiring power forward PJ Washington from the Charlotte Hornets for Grant Williams, Seth Curry and a 2027 first-round draft pick.
The trade was confirmed Thursday by a person with knowledge of the deal that includes getting two secondround draft picks. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been announced by either team.
Washington was the 12th overall pick out of Kentucky in the 2019 draft. He has played all five of his NBA seasons with the Hornets, averaging 13 points and 5.5 rebounds in his 304 games. He is averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 44 games this season.
The front-court addition comes just as star guards Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving are healthy and playing together again for the Mavericks, who are trying to get back to the playoffs after missing the postseason last year.
Dallas were 28-23 going into a game Thursday night at the New York Knicks. That put the Mavericks in eighth place in the Western Conference.
Williams went to the Mavericks from Boston as part of a three-team trade last July. The fifth-year power forward averaged 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 47 games this season.
Curry, who is in his 10th NBA season, will wrap up a third stint with the Mavericks. He has scored 4.3 points a game while playing 36 games this season.
Both Curry and Williams are returning home as both played high school basketball in Charlotte.
