FriendFest ben­e­fits pro­grams

Two ses­sions held Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

FriendFest 2017 is ap­proach­ing rapidly. Feb. 25 is the date for the 9th An­nual FriendFest Beer and Wine tast­ing event to be held in Beltzner Hall on the Kutz­town Fair­grounds. Fea­tur­ing beer and wine tast­ing, live mu­sic, de­li­cious food and var­i­ous ven­dors, all pro­ceeds go­ing to help the Op­ti­mist Club of Kutz­town’s chil­dren’s pro­grams in lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties, as well as as­sist­ing Friend, Inc. end poverty and hunger in ru­ral North­east­ern Berks County.

Lo­cal winer­ies and brew­eries in Penn­syl­va­nia and along the east coast will show­case their prod­ucts to hun­dreds of at­ten­dees. All guests must be at least 21 years of age or older, and each ticket al­lows en­trance into one of the ses­sions, un­lim­ited wine and beer tast­ing and a sou­venir glass.

Some of the many ven­dors sched­uled to be at­tend­ing in­clude Cot­trell Brew­ery, Golden Avalanche Brew­ing Com­pany, Ne­shaminy Creek Brew­ing Com­pany, Sau­cony Creek Brew­ing, Stoudt’s Brew­ing Com­pany, and Yards Brew­ing Com­pany. Winer­ies ex­pected to be at­tend­ing are Deer­foot Vine­yards & Win­ery, Kulp­mont Win­ery, Para­dox Vine­yards, Sand Cas­tle Win­ery, Stone & Key Cel­lars, and The Vine­yard & Brew­ery At Her­shey. Food ven­dors in­clude Pret­zel Rev­o­lu­tion, K’Town Pub, and YonYang Sweets and Treats.

Tick­ets are avail­able at Co­las­anti Print­ing, 305 West Main Street in Kutz­town and at Mr. Food, 342 West Main Street in Kutz­town, also on the web­site. Tick­ets are $25 when pur­chased prior to the event, $35 on the day of the event. Des­ig­nated Driver tick­ets are $10. There are two ses­sions for the event, one from 3 to 6 p.m. and an­other from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.


The Kutz­town Op­ti­mist Club vol­un­teers at the 2016 FriendFest. This year’s beer and wine tast­ing event will be held on Feb. 25 with two ses­sions at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
