Bamberger hits career high with Millersvil­le

The redshirt sophomore had the biggest game of her career with the Millersvil­le women’s basketball team in a 7770 double overtime loss to Lock Haven in a PSAC game on Feb. 11 in Millersvil­le. The 5-foot-10 forward had a career high 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and a block in 42 minutes of action. Bamberger has played in 22 games with four starts and is averaging 3.2 points and 3.8 rebounds a game.

The senior continues to sparkle for the Alvernia women’s indoor track team. At Dickinson’s DuCharme Invitation­al on Feb. 11 in Carlisle, she captured the long jump with a season-best distance of 16 feet, 7 ¼ inches and placed third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.46 after posting the top time (7.44) in the prelims. She also ran a leg on the 4x4 relay that finished second in 4:19.08. Wanner has two seconds and a fourth in the 200 this winter.

The Widener freshman had a busy day at the annual Seamus McElligot Invitation­al on Feb. 11 in Haverford. She finished third in the 60 meter hurdles with a personalbe­st time of 10.38, finished sixth in the 60 meter dash in 8.52 and 12th in the 200 meter dash with a personalbe­st time of 28.94. Burkert also ran a leg on the Pride’s 4x4 relay which finished third with a time of 4:19.83. Her best 60 meter time (8.41) came when she finished 21st at Lehigh’s John Covert Invitation­al on Feb. 4 in Bethlehem.

The Muhlenberg junior picked up two awards and the women’s basketball season isn’t even over. The 5-foot-7 guard was named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year on Feb. 14 and was named to the CoSIDA Division III Academic AllDistric­t 4 team on Feb.9. She’s a double major (media & communicat­ions and business administra­tion). On the court, she leads the Mule in scoring (13.1), assists (157) and steals (68). The stats got a hit on Feb. 15 in an 98-40 victory over Bryn Mawr.
