BCTC hosts Job Fair & Open House April 1 at Leesport Campus
The Continuing Education Department at the Berks Career & Technology Center will be hosting a Job Fair and Open House on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Leesport Campus for adult job seekers and adult students.
The Job Fair will offer job seekers an opportunity to speak with over 30 local employers looking for qualified candidates to fill a wide variety of positions from healthcare and transportation to manufacturing and construction. BCTC is proud to play an important role in the community by providing adult students with hands-on technical training to obtain good-paying jobs with local employers.
The Open House is an invitation to the community to visit BCTC to explore all of the educational opportunities and career pathways available at BCTC for adult students. Visitors can tour the West Campus programs and meet Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Hopewell, BCTC Machining Technology Instructors and co-authors of the Precision Machining Technology textbook and manual. They will introduce visitors to the state-ofthe-art Precision/Computerized Machining Technology Program.
CDL Instructors, Examiners and Graduates will be on hand to answer questions about BCTC’s Commercial Driver’s License Training program.
BCTC’s Continuing Education department prepares adult students for rewarding, respectable and wellpaying careers by offering the following: Day and Evening programs are available and taught by industry experienced instructors in state-of-the-art laboratories in the following career clusters: Business & Information Technology, Communications, Construction, Engineering & Manufacturing Technology, Healthcare, Services, and Transportation.
Evening Apprenticeship programs are taught in concert with business and industry to provide theoretical learning that enhances the apprentice’s on-the-job practical training. BCTC also provides customized training for business and industry that matches the training needs of today’s workforce.
Commercial Driver’s License Training prepares students seeking to obtain a professional tractor trailer driver’s license. BCTC provides one-on-one driving instruction and is approved by PennDOT as a third party testing facility.
