Stangle wins first sportsman feature at Big Diamond

FORESTVILL­E >> Matt Stangle is making a name for himself in the sportsman modified ranks in New Jersey and Pennsylvan­ia.

The 17-year old who in his first full season of racing at Big Diamond Speedway in the U.S.S. Achey sportsman division scored his first career win at the track on Friday night in the makeup feature and garnered a fifth-place finish in the regular feature as part of an exciting night of five features.

Other winners on Friday night included Mike Mammana who scored his second sportsman win of the year in the regularly schedule sportsman event while Brenden Bright won the ARDC midget feature. Jasen Geesaman scored the win in the No Sweat Service Group street stock feature and Mike Reichert won the Savage 61 roadrunner feature. U.S.S. Achey sportsman feature (regular, 20 laps): 1. After a frustratin­g beginning to the 2017 racing season, Fleetwood’s Jason Swavely was back in a big way on Saturday night, winning the Hyper Racing 600 Sprint feature at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.

Joining Swavely on Kids Night at the speedway, were: Josh Stoyer (270’s); Austin Graby (Sportsman); Eddie Nocera (Hammer-Down Engines Four-Strokes); and William Manotti. Both Stoyer and Manotti made it back-to-back wins in their respective divisions.
