Fleetwood honors September Students of the Month
Shea Adams Shea is the son of Ruby Adams Heffner and Jeffrey Heffner of Fleetwood. Shea’s future plans are to enter the army and either pursuing combat engineering or CBRN recon. Shea has been involved in the following clubs at Fleetwood Area High School and the Berks Career Center: class events, firefighting and hazmat programs, and land compass navigation. Also, Shea supports his community by dedicating his time to volunteer for the Reading recycling, and the police, army or air force for his pre-enlistment requirements. Shea really admires his squadron commander, Captain Greg Rubright. Shea states his commander is on top of events, stays calm in all situations and typically has an answer for everything. Courtney Birckbichler Courtney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Birckbichler of Blandon. Courtney’s future plans include attending college where she plans in majoring in elementary education or early childhood education. Courtney has been involved in the following clubs/activities at Fleetwood Area High School: Student Council, National Honor Society, Relay for Life, Outdoor Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Field Hockey, Softball, Class Activities and MiniTHON. Also, Courtney has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in volunteering throughout the community in 4-H Camp, 4-H Sewing Club, Girl Scouts, and Daniel Boone Relay for life. One person Courtney really admires is her brother, Justin. Courtney states her brother had testicular cancer and beat it through humor and positivity. Courtney hopes that if she had to go through anything close to what he did that she could overcome it as well.
