The PIAA Cross Coun­try Cham­pi­onships were held on Nov. 4 on the Parkview Course in Her­shey.

CLASS A BOYS » The District 3-A cham­pion Kutz­town team placed 14th in the state in 1A with fresh­man Mitchell Brett lead­ing the pack in 81st (18:03). Also for the Cougars were se­nior Matthew Angstadt (133rd, 18:48), ju­nior Michael Hill (146th, 18:59) and sopho­more Derek Hanna (147th, 18:59), se­nior Alexan­der Lanyi (159th, 19:10), se­nior Sa­muel Arnold (166th, 19:18), and se­nior Jake Walker (214th, 21:30).

CLASS A GIRLS » Kutz­town fresh­man Erika Mo­ri­ar­ity was Berks’ top fin­isher by plac­ing 57th (21:03) in her first states trip. Team­mate Robyn Hoch placed in the top 100, tak­ing 95th in 21:45.

CLASS 3A GIRLS » Gov. Mif­flin ju­nior An­drea Miller was Berks’ top girls fin­isher as she placed 17th (19:15) to earn a state medal. Team­mate Jessie Tay­lor placed 133rd in 20:52.

Car­di­nal O’Hara’s Elizabeth Mancini won the race in 18:18.

CLASS 3A BOYS » Boy­er­town’s Chris­tian McComb placed 28th in 16:33 while team­mate Do­minic Der­afelo was 43rd (16:45) as the top fin­ish­ers from Berks County. Twin Val­ley se­nior Chase Knorr placed 60th in 16:55, lead­ing the Raiders to a 17th place fin­ish as a team.

Gov. Mif­flin ju­nior Alexan­der Er­mold fin­ished 70th in 16:59, fol­lowed by Wil­son’s Jake Un­der­wood in 80th (17:02).

Daniel Boone’s Zach Murray placed 110th (17:16) while Alex Pin­gi­tore crossed 204th (18:19).

Neshaminy’s Rusty Ku­jdych was the cham­pion in 15:47.

CLASS 2A GIRLS » Oley Val­ley se­nior and BCIAA cham­pion Re­becca Snyder capped her scholastic ca­reer by play­ing sev­enth in 19:10 in 2A. North­ern sopho­more stand­out Mar­lee Star­liper was the run­away cham­pion fin­ish­ing in 17:50, the low­est girls’ time in all classes.

Ham­burg fresh­man Brea Bor­rell crossed in 105th (21:07).

Berks Catholic ju­nior Hi­lary Good fin­ished in 136th (21:34).

CLASS 2A BOYS » The Wy­omiss­ing boys were the team cham­pion thanks to the strong fin­ishes of se­nior Joe Cullen (22nd, 16:51), sopho­more Ben Kuhn (33rd, 17:03), se­nior Matthew Driben (35th, 17:06) and ju­nior Josh Diehl (39th, 17:13).

Wy­omiss­ing had 105 team points, nar­rowly ahead of run­ner-up York Sub­ur­ban (107).

Ham­burg ju­nior Levi Hayle crossed in 45th in 17:19. Ham­burg se­nior Wy­att Con­rad placed 82nd in 17:39.
