Writers wanted for Macomb Daily opinion roundtable

- Jeff Payne Columnist Jeff Payne is managing editor of The Macomb Daily.

With a global pandemic killing us, civil unrest both uniting and dividing us in what has become an increasingly contentious political climate, like many Americans Macomb County residents have strong feelings about the world we live in.

In the coming months, The Macomb Daily would like to get at the heart of these issues and the views our local residents have of them with an opinion series we are calling “Voices of Macomb.”

In a series of weekly guest opinion columns that will be published online and in the Sunday print editions in the coming months, we will share the views of local residents. Today we are asking for participants to take part in the series, which will begin to appear in the coming weeks. While your place on the political spectrum — left, right or center — doesn’t matter, what we are looking for is people who have reasoned opinions they are willing to share with readers in the coming months. These guest columns will be limited to 600 words or less. Once the panel has been assembled, a schedule will be sent out to participants.

To submit your interest, send an email to jeff.payne@ macombdaily.com with the following: Name, hometown, a daytime phone number and in 100 words or less tell us why you would like to be involved.

Anyone with questions can email or call 586-783-0228.
