Sports filled with true ‘deplorables’

-

Taking a page from the playbook of Hillary Clinton are all of the college and professional athletes, coaches, teams, owners, “commissioners”, athletic directors and lets throw in all of the other celebrities that choose to kneel for the National Anthem or support those that do kneel.

All of these people have a talent to do what they do and the freedom to be able to do it in this great country of ours. But, they choose to disrespect the flag and all of the Americans that put themselves on the line so they can do what they do.

If the commissioner of the NFL wants to play something other than the National Anthem at the start of the games, several things will happen. He will not be commissioner for long, many season ticket holders will not renew, and the NFL will soon stand for “Not For Long”.

They’re all deplorable. With this being said, all of these players that choose to support those that kneel or wear racist shirts “___ Lives Matter”, they’re all hypocrites. That is their choosing and will have to live with the consequences of their actions. If that means fans not attending games or being booed on the field, they again will have to live with those consequences.

They talk of systemic racism and inequality, but they support a racist group like LM, with their ideology, which coincides with the KKK and other racist groups.

NBA players stopped playing in the middle of the playoffs to protest. NFL players didn’t practice to protest.

And they all got paid. Is there something wrong with this picture? Lets see what happens when the dentists, auto workers, receptionists, doctors and many other hard working people miss work, will they get paid?

The real kicker is that team and owners allowed it.

The bottom line is that all sport teams need the fans, the fans do not need them. Let them continue to kneel and support racist groups and they will permanently play to empty stadiums after COVID-19 is gone.

If another home run, touchdown, three-pointer or puck is never scored again, I can live with that. David Wisnieski

It’s wonderful to be able to opine about someone you might admire, but if your idle happens to be a narcissistic liar, you repeating their falsehoods just makes you a liar.

Case in point is a recent op-ed blaming President Clinton for NAFTA. Simple research shows President Reagan, the old GOP’s patron saint, started it in 1988 with the passage of Canada-United States free trade agreement. President George H.W. Bush then wanting to include Mexico into the pact, negotiated it through 1992 and it was signed by Clinton in 1993. Insinuating it was all Clinton is fraudulent at best.

Looking at job figures, President Obama averaged 186,000 in monthly job gains while Trump average 182,000 over three years and a loss of 1.4 million in 2020 because of lack of his COVID leadership. He brags about the return to a great economy, stock prices up, but being deceitful in not mentioning the $3.5 trillion of borrowed money being pumped into the economy to keep it afloat. The Department of Labor reported an additional 875,000 initial jobless claims the week of September 5, while 13.4 million still claiming jobless benefits. Tell these people about the great economy.

Trumps trade deficits are the largest in the last decade reaching over 600 billion. Farmers should be asked about America being the land entrepreneurship, where they needed

$28 billion in welfare because of Trump’s Chinese trade war tariffs on agriculture and steel products. Trump takes credit for ending TPP, which allowed China and Russia to consume the Asian markets our agricultural and manufacturing businesses desperately need.

Obama policies increased oil production by 72%, an extra 3.6 million barrels a day surpassing Saudi Arabia in total oil and gas production before Trump took office.

Trump did increase drilling permits in our National Parks, so now visitors can view the beauty of nature along with drilling platforms.

I will give Trump credit for one thing; he leads all presidents in corruption having countless members of his staff either being convicted of or under indictment for breaking laws. Strange way to drain the swamp.

By the way, where are his taxes or the Mexican paidfor wall? It would be nice if one day I get my promised middle class tax cut.

So when celebrating labor, dig through the hyperbole and look at the facts and figures of the truth and remember one thing, figures don’t lie and liars don’t figure.
