Fraser sweeps GP South in volleyball

Fraser is off to a 2-0 start in MAC White volleyball.

Maddie Grace had 13 kills and Erica Gregory added 10 kills and 10 digs to spark Fraser to a sweep over visiting Grosse Pointe South.

Cassidy Victor was 19-of-19 in serving with 16points, including three aces, as the Ramblers won 25-13, 25-18, 25-19 and improved to 2-0 in the MAC White.

Paige Slone, who was 15-of15 serving with 12 points, made 26 assists and Ashlyn Baker was 11-of-11 from the service line for five points in the match played Tuesday night.

UTICA 3, GROSSE POINTE NORTH 0

Bri Confer had five kills and served two aces to spark Utica, which won all three sets 26-24. Mikayla Paul made nine assists, Lexi Maxwell had four kills and Bri Rowoldt and Alyssa Pulizzi had two aces apiece as the Chieftains evened their MAC White record at 1-1. Alyssa Jacob had 32 serve receptions and 42 digs, and Alaina Mancini made four blocks.

L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 3, STEVENSON 2

Senior Jordyn Media made 20 kills and served 12 points to lead L’Anse Creuse North to its first MAC Red victory. Sydney Palazzolo made 19 kills and had 12 digs to spark Eisenhower in its 25-14, 25-19, 25-14 victory. Maddy Mets made 10 kills; Angelena Tripi 33 assists and 11 digs. Abbey Biermann 28 digs; Gabriella Lopez 17 digs, and Kira Buza added six kills and four digs.

Eisenhower is 4-1.

Cousino won 25-10, 2125, 27-29, 25-20, 15-12 in the MAC Gold match.

Shontae Smith had 12 kills and eight aces plus 14 digs to lead Clintondale to a 25-11, 25-23, 25-16 victory. Mya McKnight made 36 digs and 12 assists, and Daija Barber had six kills, five blocks and six aces in the MAC Bronze match.
