Stallions rally to defeat Fraser

A two-goal deficit did not turn into a six-foot hole in the ground for the Sterling Heights soccer team.

The Stallions rallied for a 3-2 victory at Fraser on Monday night.

It was a goal by Joe Dedvukaj late in the first half that cut the deficit to 2-1. Kol Camovic got the equalizer 15minutes into the second half, while Hermez Benjamin converted a free kick with 12 minutes to go in the game to complete the comeback.

Agron Gojcaj, Dabe Astayfo, and Ayden Djelevic led the defense, while Ramon Arellano made three saves.

SterlingHe­ights is 3-2 inMAC Blue play, 4-2 overall.

What’s a synonym for undefeated? How about Cousino?

Endri Haxhiu and Nick Imbronone scored two goals apiece as the Cousino Patriots remained undefeated (5- 0-1, 6- 0-2) with the MACWhite victory.

Imbronone had an assist. Also earning assists were Arvin Gorospe, Anthony Waller and Nick Imbronone.

Goalkeeper Adis Besic got the shutout.

VOLLEYBALL

UTICA 25-25-25, WARREN-MOTT 13-15-9

Forget Judge Judy. Utica’s Bri Rowoldt ruled the court Monday night. The junior finished with a pair of aces, 11 service points, a kill, 17 assists and nine digs for Utica (1-1, 5-1.)

Also for the Chieftains: Mikayla Paul had nine service points and seven assists; Kayla Jacob 13 kills; Bri Confer six kills; Abby Kochanowsk­i one kill, one block and three digs; Alyssa Jacob 16 receptions and 19 digs; Haile Larsen three digs; Katie Witkowski two aces, three kills and two digs; Alyssa Pulizzi eight kills and a block; Lexi Maxwell five kills and Shelby Skrzypczak two aces, five service points, two receptions and nine digs.

Anyah McClain had 10 kills for South Lake in the MAC Silver match. Teammate Jazmyne Reese finished with 10 kills.

Zaya Walker made 22 digs and served four aces to help Clintondal­e improve to 5-1. Jazmyn Myers had 25 digs, eight kills and four aces and Persia Camara had 15 assists.

Romeo is No. 1 in the boys ranking done by Glenn Craze. The Bulldogs are followed in the top five byDakota, Utica, De La Salle and Cousino. In the girls rankings, the top five are Romeo, Dakota, Regina, Utica and Eisenhower.
