Pressure continues to build on whoever is responsible for last week’s triple homicide of aWarren man, his girlfriend and his young sonina case that has gained national attention.

The bodies of Tai’raz Moore, 6, and Isis Rimson, 28, his father’s girlfriend, were found Thursday fatally shot “execution-style” in the basement of a Warren home. The boy’s father, Tukoyo Moore, 32, was found dead a few hours earlier in a burned-out vehicle on Detroit’s east side.

Authorities say the horrific nature of the killings compounded with the fact an innocent little boy’s life was taken has generated public outrage.

“Without a doubt, whoever committed these cowardly acts crossed the line when they murdered a baby,” said Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer, whose agency is conducting the investigation along with Detroit police and the FBI.

“Even hardened criminals know not to take the life of a young child because they know they’ll face retribution, either from the police or others. Their day is coming.”

Some 960 people have donatedmore than $31,000 through a GoFundMe.com account to pay for the child’s funeral costs and a planned public memorial tentatively scheduled for Oct. 16 at Chene Park.

And thousands of dollars are being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Trick, aka Christian Mathis, posted a video on Instagram where he pledged $6,000 for tips that lead to a conviction. He said children are “off limits”

The city of Warren has another $3,000 in reward money and Crime Stoppers of Michigan is expected this week to announce additional cash incentives for tips leading to an arrest in the case.

Maurie Thompson, the little boy’s grandmother, issued a note of thanks to those who are working to find the killers as well as those who have contributed to the GoFundMe account.

“Once again our family is so grateful and appreciative of each and every one of you,” she said in a message posted Wednesday. “You are important, you make a difference and youwill help Tai’raz get the justice he deserves.

The bodies of Rimson and Tai’raz were found Thursday morning in the basement of the 800-square-foot home on Otis Avenue, in the area of Nine Mile and Dequindre roads on Warren’s southwest side.

Police had gone to the house to conduct a welfare check after the body of Tukoyo Moore had been found hours earlier in the back seat of a burning car about 12 miles away on Detroit’s east side.

All three had been fatally shot in the back of their heads at close range, according to police.

Investigators say they believe illegal narcotics was a motive in the slayings. Evidence of narcotics and packaging items were found at the house.

Meanwhile, Mary Sheffield, president pro-tem of the Detroit City Council, is planning a vigil Friday in Detroit as a tribute to the victims.

“Everyone please come out to honor the life of Tai’razMoore,” she tweeted Wednesday. “At just 6 years old, he was murdered. We need to come together to lift this family up in prayer and also to answer this Call to Action to stop the violence the Detroit area.”

The vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Erma Henderson Park, 8800 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit.
