Biden says one thing, does another

-

Next month’s election is between a man who had never been elected to public office before becoming president in 2016, and a career politician. President Trump left a very successful real estate development career to run for president and address the mess in Washington, a mess that Vice President Joe Biden helped create in his 47-year career in Washington.

Biden entered the Senate in 1973, and then was Vice President for 8 years. His entire adult life has been in Washington D.C., collecting a government paycheck.

While a senator, Biden voted for senseless wars, tremendous increases in government spending, and increases in taxes on individuals and small businesses.

Biden likes to claim he represents the average man and woman in America and the workers in our country, while he actually does the exact opposite. He is a fraud.

Biden has made a career out of saying one thing and doing another. He claims to be a friend of Black Americans, while the fact is that as Senate Judiciary Chairman he helped author the 1994 crime bill that disproportionately affected Black males and led to mass incarceration of Blacks. Like his running mate, Kamala Harris, he is personally responsible for thousands of Black males being sent to prison with lengthy sentences for non-violent crimes. Yet they are both brazen enough to claim to be helping the Black community.

But with the help of a liberal mainstream media, Democrats like Biden are never questioned about their hypocrisy or past record. The near monolithic Black support for big government Democrats is certainly no accident. The Democratic Party since the mid-1960s has followed Lyndon Johnson’s goal of creating a society of government-reliant voters, dependent on the tax-and spend policies of the democrats. LBJ infamously bragged that his “great society” government programs would have “Blacks voting Democrat for 50 years …”, and Joe Biden has supported those big government programs his entire 47 year career in government.

In one significant instance Biden did have the backbone to oppose the Democratic party line on a national issue — the “forced busing” of students to integrate public schools. In 1977 Biden warned desegregation efforts like forced busing would create a “racial jungle” that he didn’t want his sons to grow up in. Views that if exposed by the mainstream media would certainly erode and undermine his support in the Black community. But he need not worry, the liberal media have Joe’s back.

They will surely continue to ignore Biden (and Harris’s) past record and highlight only the positions that will be seen in a positive light by Black voters in today’s racially-sensitive atmosphere. Positions like Biden’s plan to repeal the Trump tax cuts and increase taxes on entrepreneurs and small businesses. Biden assumes voters would rather have a government handout than a job, while

Trump understands that a job provides a person more than a paycheck, it gives a person self-respect and purpose in life.

Democrats like Biden and Harris seem to want Americans to rely on government, while businessman Trump wants Americans to be independent and self-reliant.

If voters choose to give President Trump another term to continue to build an economy where everyone who is able to work and wants a job can get one, we will be the America that our forefathers envisioned, a land of freedom and liberty.

If not, we will continue to descend into a government controlled socialist society run by career politicians who create the very problems they promise to fix. Brian Pannebecker is a Harrison Township resident and spokesperson for Auto Workers for Trump 2020.
