L’Anse Creuse school board rewards employees for efforts during pandemic
One-time ‘appreciation payment’ of $500 to be given
The L’Anse Creuse Board of Education has rewarded its employees for laboring through this difficult COVID-19 school year with a one-time “appreciation payment” of $500.

L’Anse Creuse employees was approved during the regular board meeting Dec. 14.
According to the district, board members approved the payment as a way to acknowledge the continued efforts and hard work put forth by all staff members in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
L’Anse Creuse has implemented remote, virtual and in-person instruction for its families as a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the L’Anse Creuse staff.
“Everyone works so hard, and none of it goes unnoticed,” Trustee Mary Hilton said, speaking as one of seven board members who shared their appreciation for the work being done to keep the schools open and safe for teaching and learning.
“The board is hearing and listening to the struggles everyone is going through, and COVID-19 has presented challenges that none of us ever expected,” added board president Hilary Dubay. “The district as a whole has done a great job with overcoming these challenges and facing those obstacles, and preserved greatly.”
“We are a big family, and I think of all of you as my own family. It’s hard to hear the difficulties that some are having, but it also encouraging to see the peculiar efforts on the part of our staff,” Secretary Sharon Ross said.
Superintendent Erik Edof f also thanked the board for its enthusiasm, understanding and support of all employees. He acknowledged all the employee groups impacted by COVID-19 and thanked them helping the district during these challenging times.
L’Anse Creuse employees should receive their appreciation payment before the holiday break, according to school district officials.
