The projects are scheduled to begin in early 2021 and be completed by the end of summer 2021. In a Dec. 9 letter to Sederlund from Barton Malow Project Manager Jeff Atkins wrote that representatives from Barton Malow and Wakely Associates evaluated the proposals for Bid Package 3, 2021, renovations and site work.

“This project was advertised in the local paper, state website, and posted online on Building Connected during November 2020,” Atkins wrote. “Multiple bids were

received on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. A postbid review was conducted with the bidders the week of Nov. 30, 2020.”

Atkins wrote that contractors were the qualified bidders.

“The apparent low bidder for the electrical work and synthetic turf did not have a complete bid,” Atkins wrote.

Included with Atkins’ letter was a bid-budget summary and a project worklist, which detailed the specific types of work included for each district building.

The motion to award the contracts totaling $11.2 million was made during the Dec. 14 virtual Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education meeting by Vice President Denise Aquino and seconded by Trustee George Sobah. The motion carried with yes votes by all board members except Robert Wojtowicz, who abstained. Wojtowicz was appointed by the board on Dec. 7 to fill a temporary vacancy due to former board Secretary Laura Cardamone being elected to the Clinton Township Board of Trustees. Wojtowicz won a seat on the board through the recent election and so will be joining the board permanently in January. the low,
