Political grandstanding by Lucido
I read with interest the article in the Thursday, March 11 Macomb Daily titled, “Lucido turns up heat on Whitmer.” I’m convinced that this effort by Lucido to potentially bring criminal charges against Governor Whitmer is simply a publicity stunt by Lucido in order to further his ambition for a campaign against Whitmer for Governor in 2022. In fact, I believe the motivation Lucido had to leave the Michigan Senate and run for Prosecutor in 2020 was simply to elevate his profile as a Republican candidate for Governor.
Lucido is clearly an ambitious politician who has delusions of grandeur. Rather than waste his time and energy on such a misguided effort to criminally charge the governor, Lucido should instead devote himself to the job of prosecutor.
After the scandal of former Prosecutor Smith being criminally charged and resigning office I’m certain the prosecutor’s office is in need of reform and attention by Lucido which is the platform he campaigned upon. Stop the political grandstanding.
