Parkway Christian wins MIAC Red basketball championship
John Stricker scored 30 points and took 13 rebounds and Austin Hosmer had 22 points as Parkway Christian clinched the MIAC Red basketball championship with a 71-61 victory over Lutheran Westland on Tuesday night.
Paul Davenport scored 18 points and Aundre Collins Jr. 13 for Lutheran Westland. Coach Steve Hammel’s Parkway Christian team is undefeated in division games.
MEMPHIS 56, CAPAC 36
Junior Jacob Sulkowski led a balanced attack with 12 points for host Memphis. Senior Landon Lesch added 11 points and junior Josh Nim 10 for the Yellowjackets, who led 30-20 at halftime. Sulkowski and Lesch had six rebounds apiece and Nim five.
SOUTH LAKE 67, L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 62
Jalen Mosley scored 17 points and Tavion Willis 13 to carry South Lake. Artez Weathington had 10 points and four steals. L’Anse Creuse North’s Jemari Mack scored 18 points and Chuck Riley 16. Mosley also had four assists.
STEVENSON 69, GROSSE POINTE NORTH 52
Mak Manciel scored 25 points, Justin James 15 and Darren Johnson nine for Stevenson. Adam Ayrault scored 11 points for Grosse Pointe North.
AUSTIN CATHOLIC 38, FAITHWAY CHRISTIAN 22
Freshman center Ethan Fisher scored 12 points and had seven rebounds and junior guard Lukas Bruni made two 3-point goals and scored 10 points to lead Austin to a school-record fourth consecutive victory. Senior guard Carmela Shorkey had seven points and three steals. Faithway Christian’s Mason Kruzel scored 10 points. Austin is 4-7 and plays its final regular-season game at home against Landmark Academy.

Julia Gaglio scored 16 points in her first game after missing three contests to lead Parkway Christian. Caroline Schlaf had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Emma Semlow added 10 points.
