Ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, the Macomb Daily wants to honor the hard-working and passionate teachers in our community who, despite those challenges, were able to rise to the occasion.

This past year has been one like no other for our students and educators. With schools having to adapt quickly to virtual learning and new in-person safety protocols as a result of the pandemic, it was a year that saw many challenges for teachers and students alike.

Ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, the Macomb Daily wants to honor the hard-working and passionate teachers in our community who, despite those challenges, were able to rise to the occasion. They remodeled lesson plans and modified classroom materials. They created instructional videos and checked in on their students. They did everything in their power to provide the best education possible — whether in person or online, public or private.

We know there are many students, families and administrators across the region who would like to join us in celebrating their local teachers for all of their efforts this past year. So show your school or district some love by casting your vote in the Macomb Daily’s

“Best of the Best Teachers” contest.

Online voting will be open Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 23, with votes limited to one vote per day per email address. The winning district or school will be featured in an upcoming special section, “Celebrating Macomb County Teachers,” which will be inserted in the Macomb Daily on Sunday, May 2, ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week.
