Clinton Townshipbased Families Against Narcotics (FAN) will host a drive-in movie fundraiser next month at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights.

The nonprofit organization will present the 1985 sci-fi classic “Back to the Future,” starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13. The movie will be shown outdoors on a 32-foot-wide, 15-foot-high LED video screen.

“By buying a ticket to attend this drive-in movie event, or by becoming an event sponsor, you will help FAN continue their battle against substance use disorder and the stigma associated with the disease,” organizers said in a news release.

Admission is $75 per car, regardless of how many people are in the vehicle. Movie-goers can also purchase popcorn, candy and food from one of several food trucks, as well as have fun with a photo booth and raffle. The food items, photo booth and raffle are not included in the entry fee.

In honor of the 1982 DeLorean time machine featured in the film, anyone driving a DeLorean automobile gets in for free.

Proceeds from the drive-in movie event will benefit Families Against Narcotics and will assist individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction.

The money raised will be used to help fund the many free programs FAN offers to the public. Those include Hope Not Handcuffs, community naloxone training, the Stronger Together family and friends support group, the COMEBACK Quick Response Team post-overdose wellness check initiative, peer and family recovery coaching, and more.

There are sponsorships available at various price levels, and all of them include sponsor benefits.
