Council accepting applications for vacancy

Deadline to submit is Jan. 5

Sarah Lucido’s election to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners will create a vacancy on the Eastpointe City Council when Lucido begins working in her new position next month.

Those who would like to be considered for appointment to the vacant position may submit a letter of interest and resume to the city manager’s office before 4:30 p.m. Jan. 5. The city council expects to start interviewing applicants on Jan. 10.

The Eastpointe City Charter states that the person appointed to the vacant seat would serve until a special election was held or until the next regular municipal election.

All applicants must be Eastpointe residents and registered voters in the city and must be United States citizens.
