Match-ups set for MAC girls tournament finals

Five division champions and a runner-up will play at Cousino on Saturday in Macomb Area Conference girls basketball tournament championsh­ip games.

Red winner Grosse Pointe North plays White champ Ford at 5 p.m. in the Red/White final that caps the day’s action.

Fitzgerald, the undefeated (19-0) champion of the Silver, plays division runner-up Warren Woods-Tower in the Silver/ Bronze final at 1 p.m.

Blue champion Marysville takes on Blue Water rival Marine City, co-champ in the Gold, in the Blue/Gold final at 3 p.m.

FORD 45, DAKOTA 39

Anayya Davis scored 15 points and made three steals as Ford rallied from a 16-10 first-quarter deficit to defeat Dakota. Madison Bettys had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds plus two steals. Eliana Karas had seven points and six rebounds and Kailee Gillich had six assists, five rebounds, four points and four steals as the Falcons improved to 17-1.

Davis scored nine points in the first half, which ended with Dakota leading 22-20.

Tambre Williams led the Cougars with nine points and Samone Andrews had eight. Dakota is 10-10.

GROSSE POINTE NORTH 49, ANCHOR BAY 36

Annabel Ayrault scored 21 points to lead Grosse Pointe North to the Red/White semifinal victory. Ayrault also had five rebounds and three steals as the Norsemen, ranked No. 7 in the state, raised their record to 162. Julia Tkaczyk scored 16 points for Anchor Bay (14-6).

MARINE CITY 55, COUSINO 48

Junior Jade Blanchard scored 22 points to lead Marine City. The Mariners advanced to the finals for the first time.

MARYSVILLE 42, ST. CLAIR 24

Avery Wolters made two triples and scored 17 points to pace Marysville (15-4).

LAKEVIEW 29, L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 27

Mackenzie Stein scored nine points and Zion Harris seven for Lakeview. Sam Guciardo had 13 rebounds. The Huskies are 10-10.

SOUTH LAKE 52, FRASER 34

Da’Nia McClain had a double-double with 17 points and

10 rebounds plus seven blocked shots to lead South Lake. Christina Gibson scored 15 points and made four steals, Bryanna Nelson had eight points and five rebounds and Paula Omoragha had seven points and eight rebounds. Fraser’s Alaynah Quinn scored 13 points.

L’ANSE CREUSE 48, ROSEVILLE 36

Grace Amoe scored 13 points and had seven rebounds and Mason Morris-Krause had eight points and four assists for L’Anse Creuse. Liyah Swope and Raine Redding added six points apiece and Anna Lezotte had four assists and seven steals.

EISENHOWER 42, ROMEO 18

Ava Stack scored 16 points and Devyn Raymond 11 for Eisenhower. Jen McWethy turned in an outstandin­g defensive performanc­e, coach Cliff Piper said.

Boys basketball LAKEVIEW 59, UNIVERSITY LIGGETT 53

Matthew Ritter led the Huskies with 24 points and five assists. Charrone Gordon had 17 points 10 rebounds and three blocks.

Swim and dive L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 86, CHIPPEWA VALLEY 85
