McAlister’s Deli opens first local eatery

Macomb County’s first McAlister’s Deli will open its doors to the public in Sterling Heights on Monday, offering a new array of handcrafte­d sandwiches, salads, giant stuffed spuds, and more.

The fast-casual chain is located at 36543 Van Dyke Avenue (south of Metropolit­an Parkway).

Mike Moss, senior director of company operations, says the Atlanta-based deli is excited to open its seventh restaurant in Michigan.

“We look forward to welcoming in the locals and serving up the best tea and sandwiches in town,” Moss said in a news release.

To celebrate the grand opening, the first the first 50 guests in line on opening day to purchase an entrée will receive a free pass for McAlister’s Famous Sweet Tea. This entitles the winners to one free tea per day for 30 consecutiv­e days.

Menu items include a variety of deli sandwiches,

including grilled chicken clubs, French dip, Reuben, ham and cheese melt, sweet and smoky chicken, and horseradis­h roast beef and cheddar.

McAlister’s also offers made-to-order catering options including breakfast, snacks, spud bars, salads, sandwich trays, box lunches and desserts.

Sterling Heights McAlister’s offers a variety of ways for guests to dine, including app ordering, tableside,

window side pickup, dine in, catering and delivery.

Founded in 1989, McAlister’s Deli has more than 500 restaurant­s in 29 states.
