Deja vu for outsiders spreading disease here

- Michael T. Matoi Kahului Michele Lincoln Lahaina

Now we know what many Hawaiians went through several hundred years ago. When Captain Cook and missionaries and whale watchers came to visit, and many Hawaiians end up dying from a disease unknown to them.

Wearing of the mask, and that only first responders wear the best or N95 masks, is an infringement on my rights. I blame those who hoard masks for this problem.

First responders, paramedics, doctors and nurses should wear masks that are N95 to be safe, but I feel that in the pandemic situation we are now facing, they should wear a full bio suit, mask and face shield.

I should also be able to wear a N95 mask, assuming that the mask will protect me from the virus, and then I won’t need a first responder. I believe like many Japanese, that out of courtesy, I wear a mask to prevent others from getting sick if I am sick. If I am sick, I stay home, unlike those who brought the virus to Maui.

Wear masks that are not disposable and able to use many times. China offered the world face masks KN95, which is equal to N95, but our POTUS insulted the Chinese and China stopped their export. I assume that is a reason why many masks do not ship to America.

Dust is there for those who complained about the burning of sugar cane.

That is a reason 3M makes dust masks. problems.

Although physically quarantined, hearts and minds are free to believe the “Good News” of how God demonstrated his love. Scourged, Jesus’ stripes bring healing. Crucified, Jesus died for all the sins of the world past, present and future. Conquering death, Easter celebrates his resurrection. Before ascending into heaven, Jesus made many appearances proving “Jesus is alive!”

Rejoice and be happy, the real “Invisible Enemy” is defeated. This is God’s rescue plan. Believe in Jesus as Savior to receive life everlasting, strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
